One area where the SD falls behind other Mpixel cameras is in photo quality. The only other cameras to use floppy disks are, as I’ve mentioned the Sony Mavica line, but those can hold no more than 40 photos per disk. Since there’s no macro mode, closeup shots don’t come out well. Sure, there’s the Flashpath floppy disk adapter for cameras that use SmartMedia, but pv-sd0490 doesn’t count. Since the camera uses pnaasonic disk instead of flash memory, things are bit slow here. The camera uses one lithium ion battery, which can be recharged in the included charger.
